Dr. George Lopez: What Queries about Peace are Most Relevant Today?

Join us in the Scheuer Room at 1.15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6 as we extend a warm PCS welcome to Dr. George Lopez, who will share insights from his four decades of experience in peacebuilding and economic sanctions. Dr. Lopez has moved the hands on the Doomsday Clock at the head of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, worked on post-9/11 public programming with the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs in New York City, led the study and practice of peacebuilding at preeminent Washington, D.C. think tanks the United States Institute of Peace and the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, and advised the United Nations, various international agencies, and national governments on the design and assessment of economic sanctions. He has authored more than 40 articles and book chapters, and contributed to six books.
